Peter Dutton served as Leader of the Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition from May 2022. He lost his seat of Dickson (Qld) to Labor's Ali France at the 3 May 2025 federal election — the first time a federal opposition leader has lost their own seat — and resigned the Liberal leadership. He is no longer a member of the Australian Parliament.
